The NeoGraft Procedure
The NeoGraft procedure is generally simple. First, the donor hairs are removed from the back of the head, where the hair is genetically programmed to resist testosterone. Each graft if removed with the same diameter and length to increase the take rate. Dr. Chao will then create recipient sites in the proper angle and direction according to your personalized hair transplant plan. The follicular units are then transplanted into the balding and thinning areas of the scalp. The scalp is then rinsed, and a dressing is applied to protect the (donor) area. Dr. Chao will provide you with specific post-treatment instructions to help ensure optimal results.
Results and Recovery
Patients will experience redness and swelling following the treatment, which can last about 1-2 weeks. Most patients can return to work in about a week.
After the hair follicles are successfully placed into the scalp, they will remain there for a few weeks. After about 3-4 weeks, the transplanted hair will then fall out, which allows for new hair to grow. New hair growth will then take place over the next 3-12 months.
