What is Ultrashape?
Ultrashape is a noninvasive solution to body contouring. The FDA-cleared treatment uses focused Ultrasound energy to permanently destroy fat cells. Ultrashape was designed to eliminate stubborn fat, the areas of fat that cannot be removed with diet and exercise alone. When targeted with ultrasound energy, the fat is released in the form of triglycerides, which are then naturally eliminated by the body.
Who is a Candidate?
Ultrashape is an effective solution for mild to moderate stubborn fat areas. Those who are not ready for a surgical procedure can benefit from a completely noninvasive procedure like Ultrashape to re-contour their figure. Candidates should be within their ideal weight range and understand that Ultrashape is not a solution to weight loss. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding or have an immune system disorder might not be appropriate candidates for Ultrashape.
The Ultrashape Procedure
Ultrashape treatment requires no anesthesia, incisions, or injections and the process is completely comfortable. A handheld device will be used to glide across the target area, delivering gentle pulses of energy. Unlike other treatments, Ultrashape does not use a freezing or heating mechanism. The treatment process is typically complete within an hour and will leave no marks on the skin. Generally, three spaced out treatment sessions are recommended to receive optimal results from treatment.
Results and Recovery
After treatment, patients can return to their normal activities with little to no downtime or side effects. Results can begin to become noticeable as soon as two weeks after treatment and will continue to show as your body eliminates fat cells over the next several months. Once destroyed and eliminated, fat cells will not return to the body. Fat can still be gained in nearby fat cells and untreated areas, so to maintain your results, it is important to keep a healthy diet and regular exercise.
